The Association for Fire Ecology is an international organization dedicated to improving the knowledge and use of fire in land management. We are scientists, educators, students, managers, practitioners, policymakers, and interested citizens helping to shape the emerging profession and growing field of fire ecology.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection's Fire and Resource Assessment Program (FRAP) assesses the amount and extent of California's forests and rangelands, analyzes their conditions and identifies alternative management and policy guidelines.
The California Society of American Foresters is a Unit of the Society of American Foresters (SAF). SAF is a national organization with headquarters in Washington, DC. The Society is organized across the Unites States and Canada, and serves as an accreditation and research body representing all segments of the forestry profession; including public and private practitioners, administrators, educators, and forestry students. SAF governs a majority of the political and scientific topics at the national level, which allows each jurisdiction to represent itself independently (guided by SAF’s Mission and Code of Ethics).
The UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) Fire Network works to improve wildfire resilience across California. They provide science-based information, training and tools to help homeowners and communities reduce wildfire risk and live more safely with fire.
