In this talk, researchers Scott Abella and Lindsay Chiquoine with the University of Nevada Las Vegas will present new papers and results from ongoing collaborative projects to advance habitat restoration and conservation management in the Mojave Desert. Projects include a range of innovative techniques from abiotic restoration treatments to native plant materials development and field outplanting studies.

Workshop · Learn and Burn at Pepperwood Preserve

Join us for a hands on event focused on prescribed fire and fire-resilient land management! Learn and Burn days will be held on the first for Saturday's of the season from 9am to 4pm at Pepperwood Preserve in Santa Rosa. No prior fire experience is needed, however, these workshops demand physical exertion and many require walking up to 3 miles on steep slopes while carrying a tool.

The Beneficial Fire Summit will be held December 7-11, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina in San Diego, California. This event aims to bring together practitioners, researchers, community members, Tribes, agencies, NGOs, PBAs, and others to celebrate recent progress, share insights and ideas, and advance our collective work in beneficial fire.
