Scott R. Abella

Scott Abella is Professor in Restoration Ecology with the School of Life Sciences at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and Founder of Natural Resource Conservation LLC, dedicated to providing knowledge services in applied conservation science and ecological restoration. Research areas of expertise include restoration ecology, fire ecology, and plant ecology, all aimed toward advancing ecological science supporting applied conservation and management. Dr. Abella has worked in a variety of ecosystems including eastern forests, Midwestern oak savannas and prairies, western forests, and arid lands in the U.S. and internationally. Dr. Abella has published over 160 scientific articles, 70 outreach/extension articles, and a 2015 book synthesizing conservation ecology projects across U.S. national park units.
