California Fire Science Needs Assessment

The California Fire Science Consortium (CFSC) is a network of scientists and managers that strives to accelerate the awareness, understanding, and adoption of wildland fire science information by federal, tribal, state, local, and private stakeholders within ecologically similar regions. Every few years, we apply for funding to continue our work, and we want to ensure that our efforts align with the needs of those who use fire science in their work. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping our future programs, helping us prioritize research topics, develop useful activities, and create resources that best serve fire practitioners, land managers, policymakers, communities, and more. Please take a few minutes to share your insights—your input will directly inform our proposed program of work.

The survey will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The survey will close on June 1st, 2025. Anyone who is familiar with fire science and works/lives in California is encouraged to take the survey, regardless of their familiarity with the CFSC.
