This webinar, provided by the Incident Commander on the event, will provide an overview of the 2015 Valley Fire, which destroyed almost 2000 structures as it burned across 76,000 acres in the CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit. Chief Green will speak to the circumstances surrounding the incident including the extreme fire behavior experienced, operational considerations, and residential evacuation. She will also discuss the lessons learned on the incident that could help prevent such devastation during future fire events.
About the Presenter
Linda was the Incident Commander on the Valley Fire during the first burn period. Linda Green has worked for CAL FIRE for 30 years. She is currently a Division Chief in the Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit, with oversight of the Emergency Command Center, Safety, Training, and Fleet Management programs. Prior to that, she was the camp commander for the Delta Conservation Camp. And before that, she worked in the Cobb area as both a Fire Captain and Battalion Chief for over a dozen years.
