What is the likelihood that a forest will experience severe wildfire given current climatic conditions, vegetation, and recent history (or absence) of fire? The presenters will give an overview of science-based risk assessment related tools and applications for strategic planning and decision support in the face of potential wildfire. These tools can be used for forest planning, project prioritization, and wildfire management decision support, etc., and include quantitative risk assessment methods, potential control locations, suppression difficulty index, and potential operational delineations.
