We are writing to inform you that due to the health concerns and travel limitations related to COVID-19, the Shared Solutions: A Combined Wildfire Meeting (April 14-17 on Maui) is being rescheduled for a later date.
Please stay tuned for a new meeting date, to be planned when participation and travel are both safe and permitted by the participating agencies and entities. For now, please remember to cancel your travel reservations, including hotel (full refund for those staying at the Royal Lahaina Resort), air flights, and car rentals. For those that are already registered, you will receive an email confirming the refund on your registration fee (if applicable).
In the meantime, we are exploring opportunities to continue connecting, learning, and planning together through remote and/or small workshops at the local level over the coming months. We hope you will join us and stay connected in the ways that we can, demonstrating and actively building what resilience and community look like for our broader wildfire community during unexpected and widespread hazard events such as these.
You are cordially invited to save the dates of April 14 to 17, 2020 in anticipation of your participation at the 2020 Shared Solutions: A Combined Wildfire Meeting on the island of Maui, Hawaiʻi.
This upcoming learning and planning experience will be a combined effort for and by Hawaii’s wildfire partners (all those with a stake in wildfire, including you!), along with the California - Nevada - Hawaii Forest Fire Council members.
There will be something for everyone focused on living with fire in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. Discover your role, individually and in relation to others, in preparing for an island that is wildfire-ready and resilient.
