The Yuba Bear Burn Cooperative Prescribed Fire Events
Prescribed Burn Planning workshop
The Yuba Bear Burn Cooperative is excited to announce YBBC will be hosting a BURN PLANNING event with Erin Banwell and Miller Bailey, of The Watershed Research & Training Center on April 2 and 3rd!
This all-day, hands-on workshop is an amazing opportunity to learn from two experienced burn planners who are also great teachers. We will walk a landowner's forested burn units and develop a written burn plan together (suitable for submission to CAL FIRE). Learn how to define "burn objectives," pick a useful burn "prescription", and know the right amount of "resources" (humans and equipment) you'll need for a safe burn and mop-up. Bring lunch, water, and a way to take notes! Capped at 30 participants. Register here.
Dates: April 2 and 3
Location: Address will be sent to those who register. Location is off of HWY 20, approximately 20 mins northeast of downtown Nevada City.
Time: Saturday and Sunday: 0900-1500 both days
Things to bring: snacks, lunch, water, mask, layered field clothes, sturdy boots (we will be hiking off trail). Notebook.
Covid-19: Masks will be required indoors, and if we are not able to physically distance outside. We will also require a daily Covid-19 Self Evaluation.
